Why natural materials?
The basic requirement is simple:: It is not the person who must adapt to the mattress; the mattress must adapt to the person. Flexibility is in demand, for your are built differently from your partner; weight, build, size, muscles and fatty tissues are different and must be individually supported. On a natural latex mattress, you lie comfortably from head to toe. It helps your muscles to let go and relax. Your circulation improves, and you sleep more deeply and become better rested. And if you – like any of us – change your position while sleeping, an elastic mattress made from natural materials adapts to your movements. One must also remember the cover, which should be produced from natural fibers and lastly, with fibers from ecological production.
Rubberised coir / latex is relatively firm, lastingly elastic and keeps its shape, actively breathes, stores heat, and is insensitive to moisture.
Rubberised horsehair / latex is moderately firm, lastingly elastic, self cleansing, actively breathes, is climatizing and particularly moisture regulating.
Natural materials such as natural latex, coconut, straw, virgin wool or cotton maintain their good characteristics through many years. Up to half a liter of sweat wanders into the bed every night. Mattresses made from natural materials handle this with ease. They can absorb moisture (and release it again later) without feeling damp. Insofar as the natural material was not negatively affected by unnecessary chemical treatment, the biologically active self-cleaning abilities keep the mattress fresh and clean, and neutralize the body substances which are given off through the skin night after night. This unique effect is maintained for a long time with proper care.
Natural virgin wool has excellent climatizing and moisture regulating abilities, is permeable to air, resists bacteria, is self cleansing and hard-wearing.
